For April Poetry Month let’s encourage each other to write poems and share our creative side!
What is your passion in life? Did you travel somewhere amazing? Sometimes when we experience a personal tragedy, writing out our struggles in poem form helps in our healing process. Take April Poetry Month as a challenge. Create and share your story and share your work in poetry!
Perhaps you are curious about your family’s past. Do a little Genealogy Research and explore their lives. Bring out a family members history in your family tree. Rich twists and turns they experienced on this earth could become quite the intriguing Dark Poem.

Create an outline of what you love to do as a hobby. Weave in your excitement tasks, fun, hard work and accomplishments throughout a poem.
Choose a previous event in your life that was special and share your memories. We just went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure laughing and playing for hours. I had great fun reading Dr. Seuss books in Seuss Landing. Oh’ The Places You’ll Go- Horton Hears A Who- The Lorax are just a few! Try using tongue twisting words to create a Funny Poem that will entertain all ages!

Perhaps you had a dream or nightmare that is following you around today. Write it down before it leaves you. Some of your best stories can come from your Unique Dreams.
Are you finding beautiful Spring inspiration? Is it beckoning you to sit outside with your journal and pen. Nature is a wonderful tool to bring out your Expressive Writing as you share your more personal side.

Are you an Artist that draws peoples eyes in to take a more curious look at your paintings? Help them understand what you are truly wanting them to feel by writing an Ekphrastic Poem.
Emotional Poem Writing
Emotional Poem Writing can be words taken from your journal on how you felt when you woke, your feelings about your daily activities, how you prepared your mind and soul for sleep, etc. Begin with these Emotion Words and give them Rhyming Words to express your feelings for Emotional Poem Writing.
