I’m the proud author of The Death Owl, and it was exciting to create. While researching for my upcoming book Donna Jean, I couldn’t wait to weave some of my ancestors life stories of murder, secrets and lies into clever poems. There was a lot of enjoyment working their stories and some of my own family experiences into each poem.

Closing my eyes, my imagination took me back to being a little girl. Looking out our windows to the field and barn or taking a walk to our woods helped me see the sun chasing shadows away. Hearing an owl hoot there are visions of souls safely under her wing and stories safely held in her beak!
