    Thankful and Blessed

There has been a healing of my body and a revival in my soul! Thank you Dear Lord!! I am thankful and blessed. With Halloween time with the family and Thanksgiving approaching, my husband Gary and I decided to work hard to finish tweaking each room. We finished up final painting and little extra touches like stickers and a really cool chandelier light for the Disney Guest Room!!! We gave a brand new look to our Kitchen Blackboard and took out the sliding glass doors! All of this work takes us longer it seems but I really wish we didn’t have to say it is because we are 55 years…

    Overwhelmed

I have the feeling of being stalked and Overwhelmed is his name. He creeps up behind me and seeps into my bones. Overwhelmed crawls up my spin and settles in my shoulder blades. As I work at my desk Overwhelmed whispers in my ear, “Look at all these papers, books and stacks! You’re tired and in over your head.” Standing up from my pink desk I turn around and say back, “I’m tired and in over my head. But, Overwhelmed, I’m not giving up. I am a strong woman fearfully made and in prayer and determination will fight you back!” In the first photo my small pink desk gives me…

Weaving Your Story Into A Poem

Your story could be personal, someone else’s story, a life experience that is happy or sad. Take that one moment, that life changing experience or several and make that your central spot to begin weaving your poem or book! Brilliant Spider And Her Intricate Web Donna Jean is one of two books (Light Through The Willows) I am working on this year! My mom’s life story is being weaved from a mysterious event she experienced at a young age. From that mystery that her mother, daddy, sister and aunts all whispered of, mom and I have been searching for clues. Taking true facts, the mystery and clues there is quite…

    Light Through The Willows

Light Through The Willows is a fictional book I am working on and have introduced briefly in Expressive Writing-Where And How To Begin Your Own  Journey And Why!  This post also includes how my life was almost tragically taken away, how a book idea began to take form, and great ideas for Expressive Writing! Deep in sleep this morning I was dreaming (or having a nightmare) someone was whispering in my ear, “You can’t do it. You can’t write. Stop!” Jumping out of bed I decided to not let anything stand in my way of writing. With all the hundreds of ideas that chase around in my head daily I’ve…

    A Writer’s Content Notebook

This morning was absolutely beautiful here in middle Tennessee, a perfect paradise for a writer to write! My blue writer’s content notebook has homemade blue tabs sticking out all silly like and wrinkled. But, I don’t care as I sit on my purple swing hung from an old Oak Tree looking out on the Tennessee hills. A gentle breeze kicked up and my pages were fluttering but I managed to get information for my book Donna Jean recorded in my writer’s content notebook! Each blue homemade tab holds a timeline for Donna Jean. I added in blue tabs for her daddy, mother, mamaw and aunts. One blue tab holds extra…

Lord And Prayer And Bible Verses

In the photo is a very special figurine that my parents have had since I was a young girl. To me it has always represented this couple’s dedication to the Lord even in hardships. They come together humbly for the Lord and prayer and bible verses. Their love for the Lord sent them to praying to Him. They went to their family bible and read verses that gave them hope and they ended their time of worry with prayer knowing whatever grief they were experiencing was safely placed in His care. For a long time my mind and body has been in a healing process. Experiencing a major concussion, Post…

    Write~Proof Read~Highlight~Scratch Out~Repeat

The Joy Of Writing Writing flows one day and then I go back with a black pen, a red pen and a yellow highlighter to exclaim “Wow! This is Great!” or “This is sad and I’m crying over my writings. I hope no one sees me!” 🙂 to “Scratch all of that out. What was I thinking.” This is LIGHT THROUGH THE WILLOWS a story that came to me when I was badly injured when I was hit in my vehicle by a text driver. Recovery for me has been four years and counting. While I may not ever be completely healed, I have reassurance that there are sweet souls…

    Writing Process

Containing My Thoughts My mind is full of jumbles of words, dreams and nightmares. A crazy swirl of never ending ideas for a line in a story. My white board is always being filled daily with short paragraphs or brief descriptions. After I complete the process of clearing out my head, I take a photo, thus saving myself from overload and the possibility of forgetting clever key words. Writer’s ways of dissecting their thoughts and placing them somewhere in their mind, paper or the computer are interesting. My dad always wrote out all of his sermons on large lined yellow note pad paper. When he was done clearing his mind,…
